Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 24, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how audio-edit.com ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our website at audio-edit.com and our iOS application (together, the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Audio and Video Files
All audio and video files you load into the editor are processed entirely within your browser using the Web Audio API and related client-side technologies. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers. We do not have access to, and do not store, any audio or video content you edit.
2.2 Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous usage statistics. This includes:
- Pages visited and general navigation patterns
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Screen resolution
- Referring website
- Approximate geographic region (country/city level, derived from IP address)
- Session duration and page interaction events
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique users. Your IP address is anonymized before it is stored by Google. We do not combine analytics data with any personally identifiable information.
2.3 Local Storage and IndexedDB
The Service may use your browser's local storage and IndexedDB to save editor session data, preferences, and cached audio buffers. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
2.4 Service Worker Cache
We use a service worker to cache static assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images) for offline access and faster loading. The cached data resides on your device only.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or other personal contact information
- Account credentials (we do not require accounts or sign-ups)
- Payment or financial information
- Audio or video file content
- Microphone recordings (microphone access is requested only when you use the Record feature and is handled entirely within your browser)
4. How We Use Information
The anonymous analytics data we collect is used to:
- Understand which tools and features are most used
- Identify and fix technical issues
- Improve the overall user experience
- Make informed decisions about future development
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Google Analytics
Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC. Google's use of the collected data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5.2 Apple App Store
If you download our iOS application through the Apple App Store, Apple may collect information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We receive only aggregated, anonymous download and usage statistics from Apple.
5.3 Content Delivery
We use Google Fonts to serve web fonts. When your browser loads fonts from Google's servers, Google may receive your IP address and browser information. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
6. Cookies
The Service uses the following types of cookies:
- Analytics cookies (set by Google Analytics) to collect anonymous usage statistics. These cookies expire after 2 years of inactivity.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or social media cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect the functionality of the editor.
7. Data Security
Because the Service processes all audio data locally in your browser, your files never leave your device during editing. The website is served over HTTPS to protect the integrity of the application code delivered to your browser. We do not operate user databases or store personal data on our servers.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the Service does not require accounts or collect personal information, there is no mechanism through which a child's personal data would be gathered.
9. International Users
The Service is available worldwide. Anonymous analytics data may be processed by Google in the United States or other countries where Google operates. Since we do not collect personal data beyond anonymous analytics, no cross-border transfer of personal information occurs through our Service.
10. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply in a meaningful way. However:
- You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time using the browser add-on linked above or by blocking cookies.
- You can clear all locally stored data (IndexedDB, local storage, service worker cache) through your browser settings.
- You can use the editor without accepting analytics cookies, with no loss of functionality.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us by opening an issue on our project or contacting us through the information provided on the website.
